Greg Camp

Greg Camp is an American musician, songwriter, and producer, best known as the lead guitarist and a key songwriter for the rock band Smash Mouth. Formed in 1994, the group gained widespread popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s with their blend of pop rock and ska influences. Camp's songwriting was instrumental in crafting some of Smash Mouth's biggest hits, including "All Star," "Walkin' on the Sun," and "Then the Morning Comes." The band's 1997 debut album, *Fush Yu Mang*, and their 1999 follow-up, *Astro Lounge*, were critical in defining the sound of late '90s alternative rock, contributing to the era's pop culture through placements in films and commercials. Camp's distinctive guitar work and catchy melodies helped shape the band's signature sound, which was characterized by upbeat, infectious tunes and a laid-back vibe. Although he left Smash Mouth in 2008, Camp's contributions continue to resonate, influencing a generation of musicians and pop rock artists. His work remains a significant part of the soundtrack of the late '90s, marking him as an important figure in the genre.
